Easterseals Northern Indiana has worked with local agencies to identify workforce shortages in manufacturing, health care, and hospitality. Transfr Virtual Reality job training has over 250 hands-on modules in various fields. Digital coaches offer personal instruction, allowing participants to learn at their own pace. They can build skills and knowledge and learn to perform essential tasks.
The hospitality field offers a wide range of jobs, and the simulations can tailor opportunities to match each participant’s skills and interests. The simulations help people learn job skills. These skills include being a front desk receptionist, cooking, baking, and working in a café or restaurant. After the simulations, participants will have soft skills and hospitality skills. They can also work towards certifications in these areas, preparing for jobs like line cooks, cashiers, servers, hosts, and receptionists.
Transfr’s VR simulations train people for manufacturing jobs. They ensure the trainees have the skills local manufacturers need. After the simulations, job seekers will have critical thinking, tech skills, attention to detail, and teamwork. They will also have a chance to earn relevant certifications. Job options include production, installation and repair, electrical work, and machine operation.
The healthcare and science simulations prepare users for roles in health and wellness, including positions in hospitals and nursing homes. This includes learning skills for patient care, as well as preparing for relevant certifications. Positions include CNAs, QMAs, and medical techs.
